CleenPay is a checkout platform for online merchants. When you pay through it, you are buying from the merchant whose store you are on — not from CleenPay. CleenPay provides the software that takes the payment and offers more than one payment option in case one is not available.
CleenPay does not hold, manage or touch the money from the sale. Payment moves between you, the payment provider you chose, and the merchant.
By using the checkout you agree to these terms and to the Privacy Notice, which forms part of them.
CleenPay is responsible for the checkout working — presenting the payment options, recording that a payment was made, and telling the merchant.
CleenPay is not responsible for:
Contact the merchant. They hold the order, they hold the goods, and their refund policy is the one that applies. CleenPay cannot reverse a payment on the merchant's behalf or decide a refund dispute between you and them. If you paid by card, you keep whatever rights your card issuer or bank gives you.
The options shown at checkout depend on what the merchant has enabled and what is available at the time. If one option is unavailable, another may be offered. Some options are completed on a third party's page or service, and that third party's own terms apply to that step. Card payments are processed by Intuit Payments Inc., and its terms apply to the card payment step.
5.1 What we collect. The information you provide at checkout — including your name, email address, postal address and order reference — together with the amount, the payment option you chose, the payment status, and technical information such as your IP address and browser. We never receive your full card number: card details go to the licensed, PCI-compliant provider handling that payment option and do not reach CleenPay's servers.
5.2 What we use it for. You agree that CleenPay may use that information to process and record the payment, to contact you about it, to prevent fraud, to operate and improve the service, to meet legal obligations, and to market the products and services of CleenPay, its affiliates and its partners to you, including by email.
5.3 Sharing and sale. You agree that CleenPay may disclose, share, transfer, license or sell that information to:
Some of these disclosures are a “sale” or “share” of personal information as those words are used in US state privacy laws. We are telling you so here, before you pay, because that is what those laws require and because you should know it.
5.4 What we do not do. We do not disclose your full card number, because we never have it. We do not sell information about anyone we know to be under 16.
5.5 Your choices, and they cost you nothing. You may tell us to stop at any time:
If your browser sends an opt-out preference signal such as Global Privacy Control, we treat that as a valid request and you do not need to do anything else.
Exercising any of these will not change the price you pay, what you receive, or your ability to complete a purchase. The full detail — categories, purposes, recipients and retention — is in the Privacy Notice.
Do not use the checkout to make a payment you are not authorised to make, to test stolen card details, to interfere with the service, or to work around any limit on it.
We may update these terms. The version in force is the one shown when you check out, and each version carries a date. A change does not apply backwards to a purchase you already made. If we ever want to use information we already hold for a materially different purpose than the one disclosed when it was collected, we will ask you first.
